Be part of the UK's much loved marathon
Why not try and beat your personal best - or set one in the first place by running the Flora London Marathon for Barnardo's. This event takes in London's greatest sights, although not that many people really stop to grap a photo or a postcard.
Over 35,000 people join in the fun over a course of 26.2 miles and, according to the race organisers, it is now the largest annual fundraising event in the world. So come on, run like you've never run before to show the world you believe in children.

Quick fact: Since the first London Marathon back in 1981, a whacking great 711,163 people have crossed the finish line.
Useful tip: If a fellow runner says they've 'hit the wall'. Don't worry about getting out the plasters or calling an ambulance. They've just run out of steam (well, not literally - they're not a kettle).
